REUSABLE SWIFFER WETJET PADS

This pattern will only fit the swiffer wetjet. I'm currently attempting to make a pattern to fit the sweeper. But for the time being this is a perfect way to reuse and reduce waste.

MATERIALS NEEDED
5.0mm hook
tapestry needle
Sugar & Cream OR Bernat handicrafter cotton(two skeins)

NOTES
This is worked as one piece and crocheted together at the edges.
If you would like the flaps to be different colours than the scrubbing piece you can change the colour after row 7 & 44.

ABBREVIATIONS
ch – chain
hdc – half double crochet
dc – double crochet
sc – single crochet
sl st – slip stitch

SWIFFER PAD
Ch 18
Row 1: HDC in third ch from hook and HDC remaining sts. Ch 2 and turn
Row 2 - 4: HDC to end, ch 2 and turn.
Row 7: HDC 7, HDC 2 into same st, HDC 8, ch 2 and turn.
Row 8: SC 2, *bobble st, SC 1* repeat from * 6 more times, SC 2. Ch 1 and turn.
Row 9: Sc across. Ch 1 and turn.
Row 10: SC 1, *bobble st, SC 1* repeat from * 7 more times. SC 1, Ch 1 and turn.
Row 11: SC across. Ch 1 and turn.
Rows 12 – 43: Repeat rows 8 to 11 eight more times.

Row 44: SC 2, *bobble st, SC 1* repeat from * 6 more times, SC 2.
Row 45: Ch 2, HDC 7, HDC decrease, HDC 8. Ch 2 and turn.
Rows 46 – 47: HDC across, Ch 2 and turn.
Row 48: HDC across, finish off and weave in ends.

To finish off this custom Swiffer you will need to create an SC border around the piece with the flaps folded into the proper position. On each corner remember to add 3SC per corner stitch to allow for room without rippling
